Why We Love Working With Wedding Planners

As Reno and Lake Tahoe wedding DJs and MCs, we get to see a side of wedding planning that couples and guests don't always see.
We see the conversations happening behind the scenes, the timeline adjustments, the last-minute questions, and all the little details being handled while the couple is enjoying their wedding day.
That's one of the reasons we've developed such an appreciation for the wedding planners and coordinators we get to work with.
We're All Working Toward the Same Goal
One of our favorite things about working with experienced wedding planners is that we're all working toward the same goal: taking great care of the couple.
A wedding involves many different vendors, and each of us has our own responsibilities. When everyone communicates and works together, the entire day can feel much more natural and organized.
As the DJ and MC, we're regularly communicating with the planner about what's happening next and making sure everyone is ready before we move forward.
They Keep Everyone Connected
There are many moments during a wedding when several vendors need to be ready at the same time.
Before a grand entrance, toast, special dance, cake cutting, or other event, the photographer and videographer may need to be in position, catering may need to be ready, and we need to have the appropriate announcement and music prepared.
A good planner helps keep everyone connected so those moments happen smoothly.
They Handle Things Couples May Never See
Some of the most impressive work wedding planners do happens without the couple ever knowing about it.
A timeline changes. A vendor needs something. A family member has a question. Something isn't where it's supposed to be.
A great planner handles those situations quietly and keeps things moving.
From our perspective as another wedding vendor, we get to see just how much work goes into making the day feel effortless for the couple.
They Understand That Wedding Timelines Need Flexibility
A wedding timeline is incredibly helpful, but weddings don't always happen exactly according to the clock.
Dinner may take a little longer. Photos may need a few extra minutes. Someone giving a toast might step away at the wrong time.
Experienced planners understand when to adjust the timeline instead of forcing the next event to happen simply because a certain time is written down.
We really appreciate that flexibility because it allows all of us to focus on creating the best experience rather than simply watching the clock.
They Allow Every Vendor to Focus on Their Role
One of the benefits of having a planner involved is that each vendor can concentrate on what they were hired to do.
For us, that means focusing on the music, announcements, reception flow, reading the room, and taking great care of the couple and their guests.
We still communicate with the photographer, videographer, catering team, venue staff, and other vendors throughout the wedding, but having a planner overseeing the bigger picture can make that coordination even smoother.
Not Every Wedding Has a Planner
Not every couple chooses to hire a wedding planner, and that's completely fine.
We work directly with venues and other wedding professionals all the time to help keep weddings running smoothly.
But when a planner is part of the vendor team, we genuinely appreciate the experience, communication, organization, and coordination they bring to the wedding day.
It's All About Teamwork
From Reno weddings to Lake Tahoe celebrations, some of our favorite weddings to work are the ones where the vendors truly operate as a team.
No one is worried about who gets the credit. Everyone is communicating, helping one another, and focused on giving the couple a great experience.
That's the kind of environment we enjoy being part of.
Final Thoughts
We get to see wedding planners from a perspective that couples often don't.
We see the conversations happening behind the scenes, the problems being solved quietly, the timeline adjustments being made, and countless little details being handled while the couple is busy enjoying one of the most important days of their lives.
That's why we genuinely enjoy working alongside great wedding planners.
